The Best Working Bird Control Solutions

Our unique approach = the CREAM System

C – Clean – clean the area of bird-related dirt that contains bird-attracting pheromones.

R – Remove – remove nests, bird mess, and everything that attracts birds on your property.

E – Exclude – exclude birds by closing all openings and gaps (with netting, spikes, mesh, etc.).

A – Attack – attack birds with repellents and deterrents to make the area uncomfortable
for them.

M – Maintain – repeat applications, use visual markers, teach birds, and make sure that nets and spikes work properly.

The goal is to make your property uncomfortable for birds. And keep it this way.

Birds are smart and stubborn.
To defeat them, you MUST be smarter and more persistent.

Things that do work

Proven by decades of bird control experience
  • Physical Barriers
Bird netting (if installed properly), metal and plastic mesh, grids, bars, solid covers, etc.
  • Nerve-affecting and Behavior-affecting Bird Repellents
Methyl Anthranilate, Eugenol, Thymol, and/or Allyl Isothiocyanate
  • Bird Exclusion Devices for Surfaces
Spikes (if the size is right and there are no gaps), bird slides, bird wire, bird spiders, etc.
  • Bird Gel
When applied properly on covered horizontal surfaces, particularly in combination with visual markers.
  • Gull Wire Systems
When they are installed properly using sturdy materials and cover the whole airspace.
  • Ozone Bird Deterrents
In covered areas, with respect to work safety requirements.
  • Electric Shock Systems
When they are correctly installed and maintained in proper operating condition.
  • Visual Markers
UV-paints, UV-dyes, bright paint, etc. They don't work as stand-alone solutions, but they greatly enhance the effectiveness of other bird control measures.

Things that do not work

(no matter what other guys tell you)
  • Decoys, Figurines and Effigies
With a few exceptions for specific types of birds, all decoys of owls, dogs, and other predators are completely useless. Birds quickly learn that there is no real danger and just ignore them.
  • Scent-based Chemicals and Repellents
Most birds have a surprisingly weak sense of smell.
Rare exceptions are pigeons (natural peppermint works) and vultures (sensitive to garlic and other strong smells).
  • Lasers
Birds are afraid of laser beams approaching them.
Well, for the first 2 days. As soon as they understand that there is no actual danger, they start ignoring them.
  • Sound and ultrasound deterrents
Imitations of the sounds of predators are very annoying. For people.
Birds just ignore them. Ultrasound devices are less irritating but still useless.
  • Reflectors and stand-alone visual deterrents
Despite popular beliefs, birds are not bothered very much by flashes of light or reflections of sunlight. Visual deterrents are also ineffective unless the birds know that there is a real danger or discomfort around. But visual elements can play an important role in complementing the effect of other bird control measures, helping the birds to learn to stay away from the treated property.
  • Glue-based Surface Treatments
Birds don't really feel the tackiness of the surface because their claws have a very small contact patch with the surface. In addition, in real life, all those treatments get dusty very quickly and lose their stickiness.
Don't mistake this for bird gel - bird gel works.
  • Most Electromagnetic Systems
Electromagnetic bird control systems commercially available in the US are too weak to really affect birds. Some stronger systems (available abroad) show moderately good results but can be deadly dangerous for birds and people.
  • Dogs and Falcons (unless they are always present)
Hunting dogs and falcons put a lot of pressure on birds. But the birds simply come back once they leave. Unless dogs or falcons are present on the site all the time (or at least very often), they are not a good solution for long-term bird control.
